Controversies and regulatory action
- No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[15] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[16][17][18][19] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[20]
- Trustee also trustee of inquiry charities. Berish Berger is recorded on the register as a trustee of Satmar Nursery Trust (292614) and Vyoel Moshe Charitable Trust (327054),[1] both of which entered the cheque-cashing class inquiry in the September 2025 tranche.[17] The release makes no finding about this charity.
- Grant with a similar name to an inquiry charity. FY2025 grants include £12,982 to "Bnos Jerusalem School" (PDF p.12),[2] a name similar to Bnois Jerusalem Schools (312568), which entered the cheque-cashing class inquiry in September 2025;[17] the match is by name only. The Commission concluded its investigation into Bnois Jerusalem Schools on 9 September 2026, finding that it had issued open cheques and making "a finding of misconduct and/or mismanagement"; it was "satisfied that each charity was undertaking charitable activities in line with their charitable purposes".[19]
- Negative funds. Funds were –£4,745 at 31 March 2025 (2024: –£55,337) (PDF p.7).[2]
