Satmar in the United Kingdom is the British cluster of the Satmar (Hasidic dynasty) court. There is no resident rebbe. The historic centre is Stamford Hill / Hackney. Salford / Manchester holds Beis Rochel / Beis Ruchel schools and a Yetev Lev congregation. From 2016 a mixed Haredi colony on Canvey Island was planted by householders around Joel Friedman of Interlink Foundation / The Pinter Trust, loosely tied to Aaron Teitelbaum; Satmar is the largest presence there but it is not an exclusive court town.[1]
Girls’ schools are generally named Beis Rochel / Beis Ruchel; boys’ schools Talmud Torah Yetev Lev or Torah VeYirah; congregations Kehal Yetev Lev.

Joel Friedman, Interlink and the Pinter Trust
Joel Friedman (also Yoel Friedman) is a founding member of the Canvey Island Haredi settlement and has described himself in print as a Satmar chassid.[2][3] He was mentored by Rabbi Avrohom Pinter (d. 2020), former Labour councillor and principal of Yesodey Hatorah girls’ school.[4]
Interlink Foundation hosted a Public Affairs Committee from September 2019. In January 2022 that work was rebranded as The Pinter Trust, launched 24 January 2022, still hosted by Interlink. Friedman is director of public affairs; Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Tesler communications officer; Rabbi Avrohom Sugarman MBE chair. The Trust speaks for strictly Orthodox communities in London, Manchester, Gateshead and Canvey. Backing letters included The Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations, the Federation, Gateshead Kehilla, Machzikei Hadass, Manchester Beth Din, and Bikur Cholim D'Satmar London (CEO Yocheved Eiger).[4][5]
The Pinter Trust is a Charedi public-affairs vehicle, not a Satmar school proprietor. Canvey remains a Satmar-majority mixed colony without a resident rebbe.[1]
