John Lehal is the founder and managing director of lobbyists Insight Consulting Group.

Career
In 1999 Lehal began working for Westminster Strategy, and then in 2003 he joined Edelman.
Since 2006 he has been the managing director of Insight Consulting Group.[1]
Politics
Candidacy
Lehal stood in the 1997 election as the Labour Party candidate for Bedfordshire North East. He won 32.6 percent of the vote, but came second to the Conservative Party's Nicholas Lyell.[2]
Campaign director
In June 2015 it was announced Lehal will be the campaign director for Andy Burnham's bid to become Labour Party leader. He will be assisted by director of communications and Burson Marsteller lobbyist Katie Myler, who also worked on Ed Miliband's successful campaign, and campaign chair Michael Dugher.[3]
FT Summer Party
In June 2015, key lobbying figures, Lehal, Tim Allan (MD of Portland) and Charles Lewington (founder and MD of Hanover Communications) attended the FT Summer Party at the Mondrian London Hotel. Labour MPs Andy Burnham, Chuka Umunna, Tristram Hunt, Emma Reynolds and Chris Bryant also attended, along with peer Lord Mandelson, Conservative MP Sajid Javid and Mayor of London candidate Sol Campbell attended a bash at the Mondrian London hotel.[4]
