Core grantees (PDF p.35): ACRI, IRAC, Ajeec-Nisped, Kick It Out Israel, Alef-Ba, Sheli Fund, The Faithful Left, Standing Together, Forum for Regional Thinking, Women Against Violence. Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
Some grantees document conditions in the occupied territories (B'Tselem, Breaking the Silence). NIF UK also raised money for Gaza humanitarian aid and for 'Palestinians in the West Bank'. This is activity beyond the Green Line, but it is not support for settlements.[17] High

Support for the IDF: No IDF or military funding was found.[17]

Controversies and regulatory action

  • Breaking the Silence and Goldstone. NIF has been criticised by Israeli right-wing groups such as Im Tirtzu and by NGO Monitor for funding organisations that provided information to the UN Goldstone inquiry and for supporting Breaking the Silence.[18][19] NIF UK publicised an emergency grant to Breaking the Silence.[20] In 2010, then UK chair Nicholas Saphir said NIF believed "in a two-state solution and a strong Israel, and boycotts and sanctions are not part of that".[18]
  • Parliament. Lord Beecham declared in the Lords in 2016 that he was "vice-chairman of the New Israel Fund"; in 2014 Gerald Kaufman MP cited NIF president Talia Sasson's denunciation of settlement expansion.[21]
  • No Charity Commission regulatory action or Gazette notice concerning NIF UK was found.
