G R P Charitable Trust
The G R P Charitable Trust is a small grant-making charity (no 255733) set up via a trust deed dated 18th March 1968 by George Richard Pinto. It disburses grants to with a particular focus on Jewish and conservative and zionist recipients.
For example it has supported conservative zionist organisations such as the UK based Anglo-Israel Association and the Israel-Diaspora Trust and the controversial Israel based Jerusalem Foundation which is implicated in construction activity on Israeli occupied territory in East Jerusalem in contravention of international law. In addition it has given money to neoconservative think tanks such as Civitas and the Henry Jackson Society and to other foundations such as Stanley Kalms Traditional Alternatives Foundation and the obscure Institute for Policy Research - both of which have then passed money to neoconservative and neoliberal think tanks such as the Centre for Social Cohesion, Open Europe and the Centre for Policy Studies. Between 2008 and 2013 the Trust gave £26,000 to the Politics and Economics Research Trust a charity that mainly raises funds for the Taxpayers' Alliance. (See below).
Trustees
The Trust is run by a firm called Kleinwort Benson Trustees Limited which also runs a number of other charities most of which appear to be run b members of the extended Pinto family and bear the initials of the person in whose name they were set up. They include the C H (1980) Charitable Trust (no 256283), The A M Charitable Trust (no 260991 - named after Ann Catherine Marks, the sister of George Richard Pinto), The GP Charitable Trust (no 1115903, named after Gladys Pinto and created by her son George Richard Pinto), The Richard Carne Trust (no 264994), The Sir Mark And Lady Turner Charitable Settlement.[1] This has the result that no trustees names appear on the Charity Commission website.

The trust was created by a settlement deed dated 18 March 1968. The settlor was George Richard Pinto, banker, of 7 Lennox Gardens, London SW1, and the trustee was Kleinwort Benson (Trustees) Limited of Aldermanbury House, Aldermanbury Square, London EC2. The settlor paid £31,000 to the trustee to hold on charitable trusts, and the deed names the trust "The G.R.P. Charitable Trust".[2] The sole trustee is a corporate trustee: Kleinwort Benson Trustees Limited until 2016–17, then SG Kleinwort Hambros Trust Company (UK) Limited.[3][4] From 2018 the trust's year ends on 5 October. The 2018 and 2019 accounts record that the A M Charitable Trust is a related party because the two trusts have a common trustee.[5]
Donations were £138,050 in 2004–05, £253,525 in 2010–11 and £342,550 in 2011–12. They rose to £3,726,000 in the year to 5 October 2020, including £3,000,000 to the A M Charitable Trust and £500,000 to UK Toremet Limited. In the period to 5 October 2023 they were £474,333 (2022: £50,000). The 2023 accounts say that "the charity's activities are ceasing".[3][6][7][8][9]

Sources: the accounts for each year. 2016 figures are from the 2016 accounts, read from the copy held by the UK Government Web Archive,[10] and their comparatives in the 2017 accounts; 2019 figures are from the 2019 accounts and their comparatives in the 2020 accounts.[3][11][12][13][14][6][7][15][16][17][4][18][5][8][9] The 2010 accounts are a poor scan. They list the Jerusalem Foundation, UJIA (£10,000), the Friends of the Hebrew University, UK Friends of AWIS and others, but most amounts cannot be read reliably, so 2010 is left out of the table.[19] Accounts for the year to 5 April 2016 and the periods to 5 October 2021 and 2022 have not been obtained.

| The accounts do not tie the Jerusalem Foundation donations (£640,633 in the years tabled) to named projects, so whether any were spent in East Jerusalem is not shown.[15][9] | Not established |
| No other itemised donation is to a recipient located beyond the Green Line. | Not established |
Total incoming resources in 2015–16 were £247,713 (2014–15: £210,414); its largest donation that year was £30,000 to the Henry Jackson Society.[10]
