Controversies involving the US group
Tikva UK is the UK arm supporting the Tikva Children's Home in Odessa, Ukraine. The broader international Tikva/Tikvah network (particularly the US-registered entities such as Tikvah Lechaim Inc. / Hope for Life and related organisations) has faced serious allegations of exploiting sick Ukrainian children with cancer in fraudulent or misleading fundraising campaigns. Investigations by Factcheck.bg and The Kyiv Independent (December 2025) revealed a network of US and Israel-linked nonprofits that allegedly used emotional appeals featuring Ukrainian children undergoing cancer treatment to solicit donations, while questions remain about the actual allocation of funds and the extent of direct care provided. The campaigns were hosted on Israeli platforms, with some entities sharing addresses or personnel ties in Israel. Tikva UK itself has not been directly implicated in these specific allegations, which centre on the US and Israeli arms of the network.[4]
