The Business Advisory Group is a small group of business leaders convened by Prime Minister David Cameron 'from sectors of strategic importance to the UK to provide regular, high level advice on critical business and economic issues facing the country'. [1]

The group was set up in October 2010 because according to David Cameron:

It is vital that we get these policies right as we take forward our plans to drive down the deficit and transform our economy. Our prize will be balanced growth, getting Britain working and ensuring our whole country shares in rising prosperity.[1]

The group meets four times a year. Its meetings are also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, the Chancellor George Osborne and and the Business Secretary Vince Cable, plus can be used to advise other ministers.
