Vittorio Colao
Vittorio Colao is the chief executive of phone company Vodafone Group Plc.
Career
Colao started his career in the Milan office of McKinsey & Company. In 1996 he joined Omnitel Pronto Italia, which subsequently became Vodafone Italy and was appointed chief executive in 1999. In 2001 he was appointed regional CEO for Southern Europe; became a board member in 2002; and regional CEO for Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2003.
In 2004 he left Vodafone to joined RCS Media Group, the leading Italian publishing company, as CEO.
He rejoined Vodafone in 2006 as a board director and was appointed chief executive in July 2008.[1]
