Funding in Israel

  • Year to 31 December 2025 (2024 in brackets), grants with "Israel" in the name or connected by name to Israel: Beit Halochem £2,500 (£2,500); Israel Elwyn £6,025; Israel Guide Dog Sponsorship £6,000; "The Israel Chil ITEC" £5,000; MDA UK £5,000; Jerusalem Foundation nil (£26,000); JNF Charitable Simcha nil (£4,000); UJIA nil (£5,000).[3]

Israeli partners

The report describes the Jerusalem Foundation as "a community foundation dedicated to preserving an open, equitable and modern society in Jerusalem"; the other grantees are named without description.[3]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
The 2024 grant of £26,000 to the Jerusalem Foundation is described as supporting society "in Jerusalem"; no project or site is named. The other Israel-related grants give no place.[3] Medium (city named in the description of a 2024 grantee; no project or site named)

Support for the IDF: Note 4 lists grants of £2,500 (2024: £2,500) to "Beit Halochem". The match is by name only: Beit Halochem UK says it supports "the four Beit Halochem rehabilitation centres in Israel" for "Israel's 70,000 wounded veterans and victims of terror". The accounts do not describe the grant.[3][8]

Controversies and regulatory action

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[9] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[10][11][12][13] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[14]
  • Grants to a charity chaired by a trustee. The trust gave £25,500 (2024: £13,797) to The Focus Foundation, "a charity of which Jonathan Manson is a Trustee".[3][2]
  • Wrong charity numbers. The report gives the registered number as "116888" and the balance sheet footer gives "Charity number: 1156054"; the charity's number is 1168888.[3][2]
  • Unexplained creditors. The balance sheet records amounts owed to Avjon 3 Ltd (£10,000) and Avjon Ltd (£300), without explanation.[3]
