The groups states that its purpose is as follows:

'To promote and inform on the economic and commercial benefits of the UK wine and spirit trade; to inform and stimulate debate on issues of relevance to the trade and to consumers; to introduce parliamentarians to members of the trade from their constituencies and, where appropriate, to invite and lobby ministers.'[1]

Funding and finances

According to its website the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) 'acts as group's secretariat and provides wine for the group's AGMs.'[2]

  • Stephen Hogg - policy adviser at the WSTA in 2008 listed his responsibilities as including 'parliamentary affairs', and the 'All-Party Parliamentary Wine and Spirit Group.'[3]
