Funding in Israel

  • Year to 31 March 2019: general grants of £45,000 (2018: £33,500), which the accounts say were "donated to a charitable organisation in Israel" (not named).[5]
  • The document filed for 2024/25 (of UK Friends of Keren Tzlach, 1110715) records "Grants to Keren Tzlach, Israel" of £17,500; it is not established that this concerns Keren Eretz Yisroel.[6]

Israeli partners

No Israeli recipient of Keren Eretz Yisroel is named.[5]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
The 2019 accounts name only the country ("a charitable organisation in Israel").[5] Not established (country only)

Support for the IDF: No IDF or military funding is stated in the register entry or the archived 2019 accounts.[1][5]

Controversies and regulatory action

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[15] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[16][17][18][19] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[20]
  • Accounts of another charity filed. The PDF filed for 2024/25 is the accounts of "UK Friends of Keren Tzlach" (charity number 1110715, trust deed of 7 July 2006), with trustees J J Emanuel and B Chontow and a principal address in the same London NW11 postcode district; it records donations of £35,510 (2024: £18,290), interest £2, "Grants to Keren Tzlach, Israel" £17,500 (2024: £20,000), general grants £16,800 (2024: £7,400), bank charges £118 and bookkeeping £372, total spending £34,790, and covers a period headed "04/01/2024 To 31/03/2025".[6] These figures do not match the register's figures for Keren Eretz Yisroel for the same year (income £43,930, spending £786).[2] The document was examined by Jeremy Neuberger and signed by B Chontow on 26 January 2026.[6]
  • Unnamed recipient. The 2019 accounts say the funds went to "a charitable organisation in Israel" without naming it.[5]
