Ichud Mosdos Gur Limited is a UK charitable company limited by guarantee, incorporated on 3 December 2001 and registered as a charity on 26 March 2003.[1][2] The Hebrew name means a union of Gur (Ger) institutions. Companies House records its nature of business as “other social work activities without accommodation”. The Charity Commission describes its spending as “making grants to advance the Orthodox Jewish religion, religious education and the relief of poverty.”[3]

It is a Ger/Gur court vehicle, not a Midos property company. Founding officers included Jacob Goldman and Joel Schreiber (March 1949, 20 Ashtead Road). Schreiber left the board in November 2021. Goldman remains a director and is also a trustee of Gerer Shtiebel Synagogue, Yeshivas Lev Simcha Limited, Kupat Ezer Lenisuin Beth Yisroel, The Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations and Reach Out UK.[4]

Do not collapse this company with Talmud Torah D'Chasidei Gur Limited (07321432), the Ger boys’ primary. That school company has Abraham Schreiber (October 1979) as a director; he is not an officer of Ichud Mosdos Gur.

Funding in Israel

  • FY2024: £1,572,504 granted to Ichud Mosdos Gur Israel (100% of grants).[24]

Israeli partners

Ichud Mosdos Gur Israel (sole grantee; the accounts give no registration details). ProPublica lists a US "Ichud Mosdot Gur" in Brooklyn (EIN 23-7417681) with no filing data; no UK–US flow was established.[24][25]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
Not established. The accounts do not state where Ichud Mosdos Gur Israel's institutions are located.[24] Low

Support for the IDF: No IDF funding is stated. Grants are for education.[24]

Relation to other Ger bodies and to the Schreiber network

Ichud Mosdos Gur is the grant-making “union of Gur institutions”. Jacob Goldman is the officer who also sits on the shtiebel, Lev Simcha and UOHC boards.[4] Talmud Torah D'Chasidei Gur Limited is the school company; its long-serving Schreiber officer is Abraham Schreiber (October 1979, Rumpler line), not Joel (March 1949).[26]

Joel Schreiber’s seat here is the documented Zucker-line link into UK Ger institutions. It is not a Midos Group appointment and does not place David (1952), Emanuel (1956), Osias (1953) or Jacob (January 1974) on this board.

Controversies and conflicts

Charity Commission register

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[30] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[31][32][33][34] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[35]
  • Inflows from other batch charities. Keren Association Limited (313119) lists a £95,000 grant to Ichud Mosdos Gur Limited in its accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025.[36]
