Mizrachi (UK) is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered in England and Wales (charity number 1175411). It shares the Golders Green / Hendon contact address and website of Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust (1137199), the operating vehicle of the British religious-Zionist Mizrachi movement. The CIO’s own accounts state that it was set up in anticipation of taking over the Support Trust’s activities, assets and liabilities; that transfer has not taken place, and the CIO has remained relatively inactive.[1][2]

It is not a Companies House company. The register records it as a CIO – Foundation, registered on 27 October 2017, with no company registration number.[2]

Objects and activities

The governing document is a CIO foundation constitution registered on 27 October 2017. The registered charitable objects (abridged) are: to foster, promote and organise the education — including education in the orthodox Jewish tradition and religion — and vocational training of Jewish youth, leaders and representatives in the United Kingdom and in Israel, including with a view to Jewish youth being rendered fit for life in Israel and elsewhere; to establish or contribute to institutions for that education or training; to publish material advancing the Jewish religion or that education; and related purposes for the advancement of the Jewish religion, the relief of poor persons of the Jewish religion, and the education of Jewish children and young persons under 25.[3]

The register describes its activities in the same terms as the Support Trust: "TO FOSTER PROMOTE AND ORGANISE THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING EDUCATION IN THE ORTHODOX JEWISH TRADITION AND RELIGION) AND ALSO THE VOCATIONAL TRAINING OF JEWISH YOUTH, JEWISH LEADERS AND REPRESENTATIVES, IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND IN ISRAEL."[2]

Register classifications: Education/training; Religious activities. Beneficiaries: Children/young people; Elderly/old people; People of a particular ethnic or racial origin. How: Makes grants to individuals; Provides services; Provides advocacy/advice/information. Area of operation: Throughout England.[2]

Relationship to Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust and World Mizrachi

Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust (1137199) was created by trust deed dated 5 February 2010 and registered on 30 July 2010. The CIO was registered on 27 October 2017. Both give the same principal address and website, and both use objects that include educating Jewish youth “with a view to Jewish youth being rendered fit for life in Israel and elsewhere.”[2][4]

The CIO’s trustees’ reports for the years ended 31 December 2022, 2024 and 2025 state that Mizrachi (UK) “was set up in anticipation of transferring the activities, assets and liabilities of Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust. Since this has not yet taken place, the Charitable Incorporated Organisation remained relatively inactive throughout the period.” The same reports say the trustees adopt the going-concern basis because they “anticipate continued support from a charity with common trustees.”[1][5][6]

The CIO’s related-party note for the year ended 31 December 2025 records no related-party transactions and no outstanding balances with related parties.[1] The Support Trust’s related-party note for the year ended 31 December 2024 records donations from trustees and companies owned by trustees, and a £150,000 loan owed to a trustee; it does not name the CIO as a counterparty.[7]

Trading and programme activity described under the name “Mizrachi UK”, including the Charity Commission Official Warning of 18 November 2025 over promotion of an external appeal for equipment for soldiers of a foreign military, attaches to the Support Trust (1137199), not to this CIO. See Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust.[8]

The British Mizrachi arm presents itself as part of global World Mizrachi and a direct member of the World Zionist Organisation; the CIO sits in that structure as the intended successor vehicle to the Support Trust.[9]

Archived register snapshots of 3 January 2018 and 2 January 2019 also list Mathew Fruhman; the January 2018 snapshot spells one trustee’s name "Steven Blumgard".[12][13]

Charity Commission accounts

Support for the Israeli military

No grants, programme spend or appeals for military equipment were found in this CIO’s own accounts for the years reviewed (nil income and nil charitable expenditure in FY2024 and FY2025; only small expenditure in earlier years while inactive).[1][14] The Charity Commission Official Warning of 18 November 2025 over promotion of an external appeal for equipment for soldiers of a foreign military was issued to Mizrachi (UK) Israel Support Trust, not to this CIO.[8]
