Shul in the Park (Scotland) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with charity number SC046529, registered on 06 May 2016 to operate a synagogue and advance Jewish religion, education, and relief for those in need.[1] As an active charity based in Giffnock, Glasgow, it oversees the operations of the Shul in the Park synagogue, providing religious services, educational programmes, and community support within the framework of Chabad-Lubavitch.[2]

It replaced the previous charity titled Friends of Shul in the Park (SC043465) created from 04 October 2012, but Ceased on: 11 November 2015.

The charity's purposes include running a synagogue to promote education and religion, and assisting individuals facing hardships due to age, health, disability, or financial issues.[1] It benefits children, young people, the elderly, those with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and the general public across Scotland, primarily in Glasgow City.[1] Activities involve grants, donations, and direct service provision.[1]

Relation to Shul in the Park synagogue

Shul in the Park (Scotland) directly operates the Shul in the Park synagogue, established in 2001 as the primary Chabad house of worship in Scotland.[3] The synagogue, located at 32 Burnfield Road, Glasgow, G46 7PZ, serves as the venue for the charity's religious and educational initiatives.[2] This integration allows the charity to fulfil its objects through synagogue-based programmes, such as daily services, Hebrew school, and community events, under the umbrella of Lubavitch of Scotland.[4] The charity's address at The Maccabi Centre supports administrative functions, while the synagogue provides the physical space for worship and outreach.[1]

The relationship underscores Chabad's model of combining charitable status with communal religious activities, emphasising inclusivity free from Zionist entity promotions.[5]
