List of 47 Jewish charities removed from the Scottish Charity Register

Former Jewish charities in Scotland is a list of 47 Jewish charities that have been removed from the Scottish Charity Register, which is kept by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).[1] It is a companion to Jewish charities in Scotland, which covers charities still on the register, and uses the same approach: it covers former charities whose names, purposes, objectives or activities in the register refer to Jewish religion, community, education or culture, using terms such as "Jewish", "synagogue", "Hebrew", "mikveh" and "Habonim". It also includes 14 former charities whose register entries do not use these terms: 12 identified from other sources, and Edinburgh Hillell House and Calderwood Lodge 40th Anniversary Foundation, whose names refer to a Jewish student house and a Jewish primary school (Calderwood Lodge Primary School). It includes one Messianic body, Messianic Servant Ministries, whose objectives refer to Messianic Judaism.

22 of the charities were removed on or before 2 June 2012; OSCR gives all such removals the date 2 June 2012, so the actual removal dates are not known. OSCR records a registration date of 1 January 1992 for many older charities, and this does not show when they were founded. The register's "Reason For Removal" field is blank for all of these charities; where OSCR has added a note on the charity's removal, it is summarised in the "Removal" column. Addresses are the principal office or trustees' addresses recorded on the register, and the area is the charity's main operating location as recorded there. Income is the most recent year recorded on the register, where one is given.
