British Offshore Oil and Gas Industry All-Party Parliamentary Group

The British Offshore Oil and Gas All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) was set up to provide a forum for discussion of issues relevant to the British offshore oil and gas industry and other related industries, and to raise matters with government and industry itself.

Background

Launched in April 1999, the Group was established by Bob Blizzard the Labour MP for Waveney, Conservative peer Lord Fraser of Carmyllie and Sir Robert Smith – Liberal Democrat MP for Aberdeenshire West and Kincardine. Dame Anne Begg, the Labour MP for Aberdeen South was elected as the Chairman in June 2007 - this role was taken over after May 2015 by Conservative Mark Pritchard MP. The group has around 90 members according to Oil and Gas UK's website as of August 2015. [1] [2]
