Ian Wright is the director-general of the UK Food and Drink Federation, appointed in early 2015.

He was previously corporate relations and comms director for Diageo, the world's largest premium alcoholic drinks company. He was appointed in 2000.[1] He leads a team of 250 global 'communications specialists'.[2] who are responsible for developing and maintaining the Diageo image and maintaining relationships with corporate stakeholders.

Wright is an adviser to Editorial Intelligence and a former president of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.[3] Wright is active within the Liberal Democrats and was press spokesman for Paddy Ashdown in the 1997 General Election and 1999 European Election.[4]

Wright was appointed as co-chair of the Sub-Committee on Education, Skills and the Economy in December 2015. [5]
