Jihad Watch is a website blog launched in October 2003 by 'noted anti-Islam blogger'[1] Robert Spencer to fight against what it labels as 'proponents of jihad and dhimmitude'. For Spencer this includes Muslims since 'No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad.' Many examples which contradict Jihad Watch's statement can be found on the website of the Council on American Islam Relations where statements by CAIR and other Muslim groups and individuals have been reprinted.[2]
Jihad Watch has also backed the anti-Muslim English Defence League.[3] and operates under the umbrella of the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC).[4] Jihad Watch's website was designed by Charles Johnson.[5]

Funding
According to a September 2010 Politico investigation, the David Horowitz Freedom Center channelled $1 million to Jihad Watch over the previous three years. Another key funder is Joyce Chernick a WINEP trustee.[11]
In 2012 Jihad Watch received funds from Nina Rosenwald's Abstraction Fund according to that organisation's tax filings[12]
It received $5,000 from the Abstraction Fund in 2014. [13]
