Simon Baugh

Simon Baugh is the Chief Executive of the Government Communication Service since October 2021.
Career
After graduating from university, Baugh joined trade union AEEU (now part of Unite). He started off his career there as a political organiser in 1999 and was promoted to head of media in 2001.
In 2003 he joined lobbyists AS Biss & Co (now part of MHP Communications) as a senior consultant.
Baugh then joined Heathrow Airport Holdings, first as head of public affairs, before later becoming director of airport communications and then director of media and public relations.
In March 2015 he was appointed group director of communications at the Department for Transport.[1] He replaced Vickie Sheriff, who joined alcohol giants Diageo in 2014.[2]
