Richard Mottram

Sir Richard Mottram is a former government minister, former chairman of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and the current chairman of Amey plc.
Government
Mottram worked in government for 15 years. Working as permanent secretary at the Office of Public Service and Science in the Cabinet Office, 1992-1995, the UK Ministry of Defence, 1995-1998, the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, 1998-2001, the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, 2001-2002, Department for Work and Pensions, 2002-2005 and finally at the Cabinet Office between 2005-2007.[1]
In the Cabinet Office he has held roles including security and intelligence co-ordinator and as chairman of the joint intelligence committee.[2]

- Chairman, Amey plc, 2008.[1] Role was approved by ACOBA "subject to the condition that, for 12 months from his last day of service, he should not become personally involved in lobbying UK Government Ministers or Crown servants, including Special Advisers, on behalf of Amey or their parent company, Ferrovial.[3]
- Member, international advisory board, Gardaworld, 2008.[1] Approved by ACOBA "subject to the normal three-month waiting period and the condition that, for 12 months from his last day of service, he should not be personally involved in lobbying UK Government Ministers or officials on behalf of his new employer"[4]
- Visting professor, London School of Economics and Political Science, October 2014.[1] Given "unconditional approval" by ACOBA to take up the role.[3]
