Funding in Israel
- FY2025 grants with an apparent Israeli or regional link: Save a Child's Heart £30,700 (a nursing post), Sadeh £15,000 (Head of Education) and Hand in Hand Support £20,000 (CRM), none described by country; Squash Dreamers £13,400 ("Community squash in Aman, Jordan"). Other grants include Holocaust Memorial Day Trust £25,000, Jnetics £25,000, Gateways £35,200 and Foundation for Jewish Heritage £10,000 (Welsh Jewish Cultural Centre, Merthyr Tydfil); the accounts do not use the word "Israel" (PDF p.9–10).[2]
Israeli partners
Save a Child's Heart: the accounts do not say whether the grant went to the UK charity or the Israeli organisation, whose Children's Home and offices are in Holon and whose surgery takes place at Wolfson Medical Center.[2][10]
Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF
Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.
| Finding | Confidence |
|---|---|
| Save a Child's Heart (partner): Children's Home at 16 Haviva Reik Street, Holon, "about 15 minutes' drive from the WMC" – inside Israel's pre-1967 lines.[10] | Low |
| Sadeh and Hand in Hand Support: no location is given.[2] | Not established |
Support for the IDF: No IDF funding is stated. A £10,000 grant went to Soldiers Art Academy, which the accounts do not describe as Israeli (PDF p.9–10).[2]
Controversies and regulatory action
- No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[11] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[12][13][14][15] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[16]
- Administrator married to a trustee. "The Charity Administrator is Mr Ian Maddison who is married to a trustee of the charity"; administrator's costs were £15,721 (PDF p.10).[2]
