Controversies and regulatory action

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[11] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[12][13][14][15] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[16]
  • Grant to a charity under inquiry. The FY2025 donations list includes £58,000 to Mifal Hachesed Vehatzdokoh (1139320). A charity with that number, Mifal Hachesed Vehatzedokoh, is named in the Charity Commission's May 2025 cheque-cashing class inquiry. The release states no finding about Latate.[3][12]
  • Grant to a second inquiry charity. The FY2025 list also includes £25,000 to Friends of Yeshiva Daas Sholem Shotz (1070789) (PDF p.21).[3] That charity entered the cheque-cashing class inquiry in September 2025.[13] The Commission concluded its investigation into it on 9 September 2026, finding that it had issued open cheques and making "a finding of misconduct and/or mismanagement"; it was "satisfied that each charity was undertaking charitable activities in line with their charitable purposes".[15] It had been removed from the register on 20 January 2026.[1]
  • Winding-up petition as creditor (2014). Latate Limited presented a petition on 15 July 2014 to wind up Mighty Pub Company Limited, "claiming to be a creditor".[2]
