Funding in Israel

The Reuth medical centre in Tel Aviv at night (2008)
  • Year to 30 June 2025: donations to Reuth (Israel) £77,200 (2024: £86,950; 2023: £92,550) (PDF p.11).[2]

Israeli partners

The therapeutic garden at the Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital in Tel Aviv (2024); the charity's grants go to the Reuth association, which runs the hospital

Reuth (the Reuth association, Israel), which the accounts say runs the Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital, community housing and senior homes and day centres (PDF p.4).[2] The British Friends' website places its rehabilitation hospital and seniors' housing in central Tel Aviv and describes a new campus in north Tel Aviv.[18]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
The British Friends' website places Reuth's hospital and housing in Tel Aviv; nothing in the sources places Reuth's work beyond the Green Line.[18][2] Medium (partner)

Support for the IDF: No IDF or military funding is stated in the UK accounts.[2] The British Friends' website says that "Reuth TLV opened its dedicated Trauma Clinic to help soldiers heal from the psychological wounds of war"; this is medical treatment of soldiers by the recipient, not funding of the military.[18] (Partner finding.)[2]

Controversies and regulatory action

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[19] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[20][21][22][23] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[24]
  • Unnamed grantor. The charity's income is mostly "grants" of £77,223 (2024: £76,681) whose source is not named, and nearly the same amount was passed to Reuth; the accounts record no related-party transactions (PDF p.10–11, 13).[2]
  • Undated approval. The dates of the directors' approval and of the independent examiner's report are handwritten and not legible in the scanned filing (PDF p.5–8).[2]
