Controversies and regulatory action
- No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[14] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[15][16][17][18] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[19]
- Borrowing and trustee loan. The two mortgages carry interest at 5.74% to November 2028 and are secured on two of the four flats; an interest-free loan of £68,000 made by the trustees in May 2017 is still outstanding; the charity had net current liabilities of £54,933 (PDF p.7, 13).[2]
- Valuation and presentation. The flats' fair value is based on "market information available to the trustees" and is unchanged; the balance sheet is headed "AS AT 5 APRIL 2425"; a dormant wholly owned subsidiary, Beack Investments Ltd, is not consolidated (PDF p.7, 11–12).[2]
- "Dormant" subsidiary with property. The accounts describe Beack Investments Ltd as a dormant wholly owned subsidiary, but the Land Registry company-ownership dataset lists Beack Investments Limited (04680971), whose officers include Yaacov Zvi Kahn and Mirjam Kahn and whose registered office is the charity's address, as proprietor of four leasehold flats and parking spaces at Wilburn Basin, Salford, added in 2017–2018; the titles were not checked (PDF p.12).[2][20][21]
- Trustee not on the register. Mr M Shaya is named as a trustee in the accounts but not on the register.[2][1]
- Late filing. The register shows the latest accounts as received 33 days late.[14]
