The Benji Hillman Foundation is an Israeli organisation that says: "Our vision is that all lone soldiers will have a real home to call their own for the duration of their army service". It established "HaBayit shel Benji (Benji's Home), a purpose-built home for lone soldiers" and a Guidance Center: "Both projects are in Benji's home town in Ra'anana".[1]

Location

Ra'anana is inside the 1949 armistice lines.[1]

Link to IDF service

The foundation houses soldiers during their army service.[1] The Israel Defense Forces treats as "lone soldiers" those serving without family support in Israel, for example soldiers whose parents live abroad, who are estranged from their parents or who are orphaned, and gives them extra rights such as a monthly stipend.[2] See Lone soldiers.
