National Security Council (Israel)

The National Security Council is the Prime Minister and the Government’s staff forum for advising on national security issues. The NSC is located near the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.[1]

The National Security Council (NSC) was established in March 1999 on the basis of Government Resolution No. 4889, and on July 29, 2008, it acquired a legislative basis in the National Security Council Law.[1]

Foreign Policy Division

The National Security Council’s Foreign Policy Division is in charge of planning, integration and coordination of policy on major issues of national security. Key areas include policy towards the Palestinians, neighboring countries, regional and global powers, and energy security.[3]

Security Policy Division

The Security Policy Division of the National Security Council coordinates the handling of those aspects of security that are connected with national security.[4]
