James McLoughlin is the deputy head of policy at the Institute of Directors and the son of transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin.

Career

McLoughlin began his career working on Boris Johnson's Mayoral campaign.

In 2009 he joined lobbyists Fleishman-Hillard as an account executive and later an account manager and then in 2011 moved to Bell Pottinger.

In 2014 he joined the Institute of Directors as the deputy head of policy.[1]

Family

  • Patrick McLoughlin, father. Transport secretary and the Conservative Party MP for Derbyshire Dales since 2010. In 2015 Patrick caused controversy by failing to declare that his son is involved in lobbying the public sector.[2]
