David Chontow is a trustee of the Friends of Kupat Hakahal Kirhyat Sefer. According to the UK Charity Commission its activities comprise: 'The relief of poverty sickness and infirmity among persons of the Jewish faith throughout the world and in particular by supporting the charitable activities of Kupat Hakahal Kiryat Sefer'.[1]

However, Kiryat Sefer, more generally known as Modi'in Illit, is an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank.[2]
