Company director and Institute for Statecraft specialist team member

Perry Fawcett

Occupation Company director

Perry Fawcett is described in an Institute for Statecraft document as a "Director of a number of companies involved in marketing and new media" and a "Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police financial and organised crime unit".[1] He is named in a list of members of the Specialist Group Military Intelligence (SGMI) published by Anonymous in January 2019.[2]

Career

The Institute for Statecraft expert team list says he "has worked with MOD and JNAC in the areas of financial crime, especially the tracking of money flows in support of adversary organisations", and calls him an "expert trainer in budgeting and budgetary control for NGOs". It gives him a "(DV)" marker,[1] which the Working Group on Syria, Propaganda and Media read as developed vetting.[3] The list published by Anonymous repeats this biography and gives an Army email address for him.[2]

Specialist Group Military Intelligence

A briefing headed "The General Service Corps & The SRO Experience", marked "OFFICIAL" and dated April 2018, gives its presenter as "Capt. PJ FAWCETT GSC, CoS - RTIS" of the Specialist Group Military Intelligence. It covers the role of specialist reserve officers, SGMI's recruitment and selection process, and the difference between "Type A" and "Type B" commissions.[4]

Integrity Initiative

In the Institute for Statecraft's "Tor Team" table Fawcett's role is "Quality control" (15 years), covering "Tracking Russian money flows; evaluation of partners' financial fitness and finance management training".[5] A note headed "Finding the money" records a "Discussion with Perry Fawcett and Ian Cohen" dated "06 12 2106" [sic].[6]
