Amber Rudd

Amber Rudd has been the Conservative MP for Hastings and Rye since the 2010 general election.[1] She was appointed an Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) in October 2013.[2]

In July 2014 Rudd was appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Climate Change at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.[3]

Her responsibilities include the embattled Green Deal and other energy efficiency schemes such as the Energy Company Obligation, which is in the process of being overhauled. [4]

Background

Rudd is a former venture capitalist, and is the sister of Roland Rudd, founder of PR agency RLM Finsbury, and ex-wife of A.A. Gill, the writer and restaurant critic. [4]
