Science Technology Engineering and Medicine Public Relations Association
The Science Technology Engineering and Medicine Public Relations Association (STEMPRA) is a UK-based network of science, technology, engineering and medicine public relations (PR) practitioners established in 1993.

- Ruth Francis (Chair). Francis is Head of Communications for BioMed Central and Head of Corporate Communications its UK parent company Springer. She is the former Head of Press at Nature Publishing Group and has worked in PR for King's College London and Cancer Research UK.[1]
- Becky Purvis (Secretary). Purvis is Head of Policy at the Association of Medical Research Charities and a former Assistant at the Science Media Centre.[2]
- Simon Levey (Treasurer and Membership Secretary). Levey is Research Media Officer for the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London and former Fundraising and Administrative Assistant at Science Media Centre.[3]
- Emma Knott (Website and Online Coordinator). Knott is Account Director at PR agency Kaizo and a former researcher at Cardiff University.[4]
- Jess Devonport (Website and Online Coordinator). Devonport is Marketing and Communications Officer at the Society of Biology.[5]
- Anna Perman (Events Coordinator). Perman is a Communications Officer for the Association of Medical Research Charities.[6]
- Jenny Chapman (Newsletter Editor). Chapman is an Account Executive at Proof Communication.[7]
- Rob Dawson (Committee Member). Dawson is Head of News at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).[8]
- Jen Middleton (Committee Member). Middleton is a Media Officer at the Wellcome Trust and formerly worked in the press office of the journal Nature.[9]
- Rebecca Nesbit (Committee Member). Nesbit is a Press Officer at the Society of Biology.[10]
- Sallie Robbins (Committee Member). Robbins is a freelance science publicist working as srPR. She formerly worked at the British Science Association running the press office for the Festival of Science.[11]
- Holly Rogers (Committee Member). Rogers is Communications Officer at the Academy of Medical Sciences and Head of Events at Science Brainwaves, part of the British Science Association. She is a volunteer writer at BioNews.[12]
Funding
Membership
STEMPRA is a members' organisation. Individual membership of STEMPRA costs £15 per year.[14] Membership is coordinated by former Science Media Centre Fundraising and Administrative Assistant and STEMPRA Treasurer Simon Levey from his address as Imperial College London.[15]
