Andrew Mitchell (MP)
Andrew Mitchell is a millionaire former investment banker and British Conservative Party member of Parliament (MP). In May 2013 he was hired as an adviser to corporate intelligence consultancy Montrose Associates.[1]
Mitchell has been the Conservative Party MP for Sutton Coldfield since 2001 and was previously the MP for Gedling from 1987 to 1997.

Background
Mitchell is the son of Sir David Mitchell, Conservative MP for Basingstoke 1964-83 and North West Hampshire 1983-97.
Parliamentary Career
Mitchell was appointed secretary of state for international development in May 2010.[2]
In September 2012 he was appointed government chief whip.[3]
He resigned from this position on 19 October 2012, over the so-called 'Plebgate' affair concerning allegations he had verbally abused police officers at Downing Street. The Metropolitan Police later launched an investigation into claims police officers gave false evidence over the episode.[4]
Earnings outside Parliament
As of November 2017, Mitchell combined his MP duties with working for:
- UK Global Health Care ltd (1 Harley Street, London W1G 9QD) as a Senior Advisor from 1 July 2017; paid £30,000 a year plus VAT, in return for 5 days work. UK Global Health Care is the registered name for the Indo UK Institute of Health, a company established in 2015 to build healthcare facilities in India using private sector companies and NHS organisations/the NHS brand. In August 2017, Mitchell went with its CEO Ajay Gupta to meet Anupriya Patel, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India, to discuss opening healthcare facilities in her State of Uttar Pradesh.[5]
- EY (formerly Ernst & Young) as a consultant from 1 November 2016; paid £30,000 a year for 5 days work.
- Investec as a senior adviser; paid £6,000 a day for an expected time commitment of 10 days a year, although the MPs' register of interests reveals that in some quarterly periods he has earned £15,000 for just one day's work.[6]
- Montrose Associates as an adviser; appointed May 2013 by its founder Michael Maclay who previously worked with Mitchell at Hakluyt, for which he is paid £3000 per day.

- The Foundation, 82 Dean St, London W1D 3SP; growth and innovation consultancy. Member of the Advisory Board. Remuneration: £3,000 a day, with an expected time commitment of 6 days a year from February 2013 to Sept 2015[7]
