Katie Myler quit her role as senior media adviser to the new Labour leader Ed Miliband in November 2010. She went on to join Burson-Marsteller as director and senior consultant in corporate business. Burson-Marsteller is a global public relations and communications firm headquartered in New York City.

Myler also previously worked as a special adviser to two Labour secretaries of state, Andy Burnham and Jacqui Smith. [1]

She is said to have played a key role in Miliband's successful leadership campaign, acting as his press handler. Before moving into political communication, she spent a decade at GMTV as a senior producer. [2]

She is the daughter of Colin Myler, editor of News of the World. [2]
