Sarah Schaefer is special advisor to David Miliband.[1] She was formerly the Director of the Europe Programme at the Foreign Policy Centre. She previously worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and as a political correspondent at The Independent. A former Director of Communications at the Social Market Foundation, she was political adviser at the FCO to Dr Denis MacShane when we was Europe Minister.[2] More recently, she was Director of Strategy and Communications at Britain in Europe.[3].
She is married to Matthew d'Ancona, the editor of the Spectator.
