The Jacobson Family Foundation Trust (EIN: 04-6836735) is a 501(c)(3) non profit foundation based in Florida. It supports a number of Jewish and pro-Israel causes.
According to Inside Philanthropy, the trust held close to half a billion dollars in assets in 2013 and disbursed more than $20 million in the same year. [1]
Contents
Mission
Regarding Israel the foundation describes its mission as to:
- Build greater understanding of, support for, and affinity to Israel among thought leaders and key sectors of US population through missions, advocacy and education.
- Help Israel strengthen values of Israeli society and cohesion and commitment to a vibrant Jewish state through development of:
- Ethical, values-based, leadership.
- Mainstream opportunities and collaborations among diverse societal groups.[2]
Activities
In 2010 the trust funded a chairmanship at the Mandel Center for the Humanities at Brandeis University.[1] The chair was named after Jehuda Reinharz, former President of Brandeis University and current President Emeritus and Richard Koret Professor of Modern Jewish History.[3]
