Gavin Shuker has been the UK Labour Party member of parliament for Luton South since 2010. He was appointed shadow international development minister in October 2013 in the DFID team.

In the 2015 general election, Shuker was re-elected with a majority of 5,711. [1]

Biography

After initially serving as PPS to the Rt. Hon Sadiq Khan, Shadow Justice Secretary, Gavin was appointed to the shadow DEFRA frontbench team in March 2011. As Shadow Minister for the Natural Environment, Gavin led through on work to overturn the Government’s decision to sell-off large parts of the forest estate. In the October 2011 reshuffle, he became Shadow Minister for Water and Waste, anticipating the publication of the Water White Paper and subsequent legislation.
