Andrea Leadsom is the Conservative MP for South Northamptonshire.[1] Leadsom entered the Government as economic secretary to the [[HM Treasury] in April 2014, during a reshuffle prompted by the resignation of Maria Miller from the Cabinet.[2]

Background

After attending Tonbridge Girls Grammar School in Kent, Leadsom went on to read political science at Warwick University. She then went on to serve on the Treasury Select Committee from 2010 until 2014. Prior to this, Leadsom worked in the banking and finance industry for 25 years, most recently as head of corporate governance and senior investment officer at Invesco Perpetual. [2]
