Cyril Isadore Furst (b 1937, Cathcart)[1] was a prominent Zionist activist in Glasgow.
Married Ann Mary Furst (nee Friedlander) in 1963 in Pollok.[2]
Parents were Lester Sol Furst and Bessie Furst (nee Freedman)
Timeline
- 1961 - The Glasgow Young Zionist Organisation has undertaken to raise £5,000 over 5 years to provide a weaving shop in the Dr. Israel Goldstein Youth Village at Kataman, near Jerusalem. This was stated at the annual meeting Mr. Cyril Furst and Mr Edwin Mandel. All surplus funds derived from the various social activities during the next few years are to be devoted to the project. Mr. Furst spoke of the satisfaction felt at the creation of a Junior Zionist Group for 14- to 17-year-olds which in a short time had built up a large and enthusiastic membership A message of greetings was received from Mr. Edward Woolfson J.P. Hon. Life-President of the organisation, who has in the past 18 successive years delivered the Presidential Address at the annual general meeting, but was unable to be present on this occasion.[3]
