Sarah Schaefer is a former special advisor to David Miliband.[1]
After stepping down as Milliband's aide in 2009,[2], Schaefer became Global Corporate Sustainability Director at Mars. [3]
She was formerly the director of the Europe Programme at the Foreign Policy Centre. She previously worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and as a political correspondent at The Independent. A former director of communications at the Social Market Foundation, she was political adviser at the FCO to Dr Denis MacShane when we was Europe Minister.[4] McShane is a zionist and a member of the neoconservative Henry Jackson Society. Schaefer is also linked to the neocons by virtue of the fact that she is married to Matthew d'Ancona, the editor of the Spectator.
More recently, she was director of strategy and communications at Britain in Europe.[5]
