John Armitage is the co-founder of the hedge fund Egerton Capital, which he set up in 1994 with former chief executive William Bollinger who retired in 2005. Today Egerton holds around $8.7 billion in assets. [1]
EU Remain campaign backer
In 2016 Armitage emerged as a donor to Britain Stronger in Europe, the lead group campaigning for British voters to choose to remain in the European Union in a June 2016 referendum on the UK's membership. [2]
Armitage gave £15,000 on 21 April 2016. [3]
