David Lidington is the Conservative Party MP for Aylesbury and in 2015 retained his seat with a majority of 17,158. [1]
Lidington was chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster until July 2019, resigning from the role rather than serve incoming PM Boris Johnson's administration. [2] He was replaced by Michael Gove.
Previously, Lidington was Leader of the House of Commons, appointed by incoming PM Theresa May on 14 July 2016. [3] Prior to this, Lidington was minister of state at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, a role that he had held since 2010. [4] His remit concerns issues surrounding Europe and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation(NATO).[5]
