Eamonn Butler (1952-) is director of the Adam Smith Institute, which he co-founded with his brother, Stuart Butler, and Madsen Pirie in 1978.

Butler has degrees in philosophy, economics and psychology, and is author of academic books on the work of three of this century's leading economists, as well as co-author of a number of books on intelligence and IQ testing.

His books on economic theory and practice include: Hayek: His Contribution to the Economic and Political Thought of Our Time; Milton Friedman: A Guide to his Economic Thought; Ludwig von Mises: Fountainhead of the Modern Microeconomics Revolution; and with Robert Schuettinger, Forty Centuries of Wage and Price Controls.[1]
