Benet joined Lever Brothers from Cambridge University where he had studied Economics. Having worked in a variety of commercial roles he joined Deloitte Consulting in business strategy. He joined PepsiCo in 1991 in an M&A role, before moving to a sales role in the USA. He became GM Portugal before joining PepsiCo’s UK snack division, Walker’s, in 1996

where he held a number of senior sales roles. Benet joined Diageo Great Britain in 2004 as Managing Director (MD) On-Trade and subsequently became MD Home Consumption. He was appointed Joint MD in 2005 and MD, Diageo Great Britain in July 2006. He is a trustee of the Drinkaware Trust.[1]
