Stewart Goodman is the cover name used by a former undercover officer with the Special Demonstration Squad who was deployed into the Anti-Apartheid Movement and the International Socialists 1970 to 1971.[1] According to John Mitting, Chair of the Undercover Policing Inquiry: 'Apart from one incident of no relevance to the Inquiry, there is no known allegation of misconduct against him'. Currently in early 70s and economically active.[2]

For the purposes of the Undercover Policing Inquiry and Operation Herne, he is also referred to by the cipher HN339 (for the N cipher system see N officers). The Inquiry has ruled that the officer's real name will be restricted.[3]
