Toiba Esther Trust (formerly Keren Reb Elazar) is a charitable trust on the register of the Charity Commission for England and Wales (charity number 290687). It gives money to relieve poverty, with a particular focus on helping people keep to the traditions of Jewish religious weddings.[1] It shares a trustee, an address and a telephone number with Friends of Mosdos Sanz of Safad, a charity that supports institutions of the Sanz-Klausenburg dynasty. That is the only link to the dynasty found on the register.
Registration
The trust was registered on 3 December 1984. It is governed by a declaration of trust dated 29 October 1984 and amended on 15 March 2013. Its previous name was Keren Reb Elazar. Its address is 23 Elmcroft Avenue, London NW11 0RS. It is not recognised by HMRC for gift aid.[1]
The register shows that its reporting is up to date. The return for the year to 30 April 2023 was received on 10 February 2025, 347 days late.[1]
Objects and activities
Its objects are to advance education in, and the religion of, the Orthodox Jewish faith, the relief of poverty, and other purposes that English law treats as charitable. The register classes its work as relief of poverty, overseas aid and famine relief, religious activities and other charitable purposes. It makes grants to individuals and organisations throughout England and Wales.[1]

Dynasty link
The trust's own register entry names no dynasty. The link to Sanz-Klausenburg is indirect:
- its trustee Barry Bodner is also a trustee of Friends of Mosdos Sanz of Safad;
- the register gives both charities the same address, 23 Elmcroft Avenue, London NW11 0RS, and the same telephone number.[1][2]
This shows a shared trustee and shared contact details. It does not establish that the Toiba Esther Trust supports Sanz institutions.
