Tim Luke is a former special adviser to David Cameron. Between 2011 and 2014 he was a senior adviser to Cameron as well as an adviser to Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister, on business, trade and innovation.  Luke was bought into Downing Street as part of the Policy and Implementation Unit. 
Previously, Luke spent almost 18 years as a top-ranked analyst across a number of different technology sub-sectors which included communications equipment, enterprise networking and semiconductors at Lehman Brothers. He also undertook a role as global sector head for the equity research team covering the technology sector at Barclays Capital. 
Luke studied European History, Politics and Economics at the University of East Anglia.
