Stand for Israel
Stand for Israel is a project of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ). According to its website the mission of the organisation is to:
- inform, equip and mobilize individuals and churches to support the State of Israel through prayer and grass roots advocacy initiatives.[1]
History
Stand for Israel was launched in June 2002 at an announcement made by Republican party strategist, Ralph Reed and Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein - the founder and president of the IFCJ. Eckstein described the new organisation as the 'Christian AIPAC'.[2]
In 2006 former House of Representatives majority leader Tom DeLay spoke at a Stand for Israel dinner in Washington.[3]
