Scott Kaufman

Scott Kaufman is the CEO and Secretary of the United Jewish Foundation, a grant making foundation which supports a number of Jewish and pro-Israel causes. He is also CEO of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. Prior to his appointment as CEO he served as that organisations Director of Strategic Initiatives.[1]

Kaufman has also been a member of the United Jewish Communities Young Leadership Cabinet, and was national co-chair of the 2001 Young Adult CommUNITY Mission to Israel, for which Detroit made up a third of the participants. He has led 20 Federation and UJC missions including a 2008 family mission to celebrate Israel’s 60th year.
He has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and innovation as recipient of various awards including the 2008 Pappas Innovative Idea Award, given annually to the Federation professional who originates and executes the best new idea; 2005 Frank A. Wetsman Award, Federation’s highest honor for young male leadership; and 2001 Mark Family Young Leadership Award, awarded to the emerging leader making the largest impact on Federation.[1]
