In the news
- A Charity Commission inquiry report, published in August 2022 and archived in August 2024, records that the trustees of the unincorporated charity Achiezer, and of Achiezer Association Limited (255031), were the brothers David, Sidney and Michael Chontow. It states that Michael Chontow died before the inquiry opened. The inquiry's criticisms included unexplained payments of £129,800 between 2014 and 2016 to Dasim Partners, a property company in which Sidney and David Chontow were partners, and repeated failures to file accounts. Interim managers were appointed in 2018, and the charity was removed from the register in April 2022. At the time of the report, the investigation into Achiezer Association Ltd was still ongoing.[5]
