Portrait of Lori Tanur-Hudaly

Lori Tanur-Hudaly (born October 1981), also known as Lori Hudaly, is a South African-born activist and recruiter based in London. She is prominently associated with Stop the Hate UK, a pro-Zionist organisation that counters pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the United Kingdom.[3] Her activities focus on advocating for the release of captives held by the Palestinian Resistance and protesting against what she alleges she perceives as antisemitism in anti-Zionist marches. Tanur-Hudaly's involvement underscores efforts by Zionist groups to suppress criticism of the Zionist entity, often framing such opposition as hate speech.

Following the events of 7 October 2023, Tanur-Hudaly became more active in grassroots Zionist activism, participating in counter-protests and awareness campaigns.[3] She has been criticised for her role in networks that align with far-right elements to oppose pro-Palestinian activism, as documented in reports highlighting convergences between pro-'Israel' groups and extremist circles.[4] This reflects broader patterns where anti-Zionist beliefs, protected under rulings like Miller v University of Bristol (2024), face discrimination from such campaigns.

Early life and education

Tanur-Hudaly was born in South Africa in October 1981.[5] She grew up in South Africa and studied in Cape Town, graduating with a Teaching Diploma.[6]

Career

Tanur-Hudaly initially worked at the IDH head office in London before managing a dental practice in Paddington.[6] She later transitioned to working in a nursery, aligning with her interest in children. After a career break, she joined Premier Home Help as an associate.[6] Prior to this, she founded a children's charity called LIDSI and fundraised for the charity GIFT for two years.[6]

Her business involvements include directorships in several companies. She serves as an active director of AZZURRE LH LIMITED since 23 October 2020.[5] She was previously involved as an LLP designated member in entities such as AZZURRE CAPITAL TWO LLP (dissolved), EAGLE COMO LLP (resigned), SOMMO INVESTMENTS LLP (dissolved), and AZZURRE CAPITAL ONE LLP (dissolved).[5]

Activism

Tanur-Hudaly is deeply involved with Stop the Hate UK, a Zionist organisation founded in response to pro-Palestinian marches following 7 October 2023.[7] The group positions itself as the largest Jewish-led direct action campaign against what it labels as antisemitic incidents at these marches, advocating for the Zionist colony.[7] Tanur-Hudaly handles merchandising for the organisation, selling items like "Emily Sweats" and "Liri T-shirts" with proceeds supporting its activities.[8][9]

She has campaigned for the release of female prisoners held by the Palestinian Resistance, participating in social media efforts on International Women's Day 2024.[10] As The Jewish Chronicle reports, she stated: “I’ve been trying to do as much as I can to bring them home. If we stop speaking about them, they’ll just get forgotten.”[10] Her activism includes countering pro-Palestinian protests, which she describes as having transformed her confidence.[3] Reports suggest such groups demand police action against anti-Zionist expressions, potentially infringing on protected beliefs.[4]

Tanur-Hudaly has been listed on Reverse Canary Mission, a platform critiquing individuals complicit in apartheid policies of the Zionist regime.[11] She is also active on social media, posting under @lootan81 on X, where she engages in pro-Zionist discourse and criticises opponents.[12]

Additionally, she has contributed to events, such as a Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in Hampstead where her daughter performed in a play.[13]

Personal life

Tanur-Hudaly resides in London with her husband Adam and their three children: Rafi, Lexi, and a third child born in late 2014.[12] She reportedly enjoys gym activities, travelling with family, and socialising with friends.[6] Lori's parents are Denise Tanur and Ronnie Tanur, while Adam's parents are Sharon Hudaly and David Hudaly. Freda Bakerman is the only grandparent who is alive.[14]
